Early Nasopharyngeal Cancer Screening (HCENPC01)
Early Nasopharyngeal Cancer Screening
- The test utilizes the NGS technology invented by the world-class research team from The Chinese University of Hong Kong
- Sensitivity greater than 97%
- Simple and non-invasive. Only requires a single blood draw
NPC can strike
anyone at any age!
Recent Hong Kong Cancer Registry figures show that
NPC:the no.1 cancer amongst men aged to 441
Over 80% NPC patients are below the age of 65²
Are the signs of NPC are easily identified?
As the symptoms of early NPC resemble flu or
inflammatory illnesses, it it usually hard for patients to relate the symptoms
to NPC at the early stage, causing a delay in seeking medical intervention.
Research shows that 80% of unscreened patients were diagnosed with NPC at a
late stage.3
How does Take2 Prophecy™ Test compare with Traditional EBV tests?
Infection with EB virus is the main course of NPC.
EB virus serological detection and quantitative EB virus DNA detection have
been consistent tools at the past. However EB virus infection is very common,
even if the presence of DB virus or any antibodies is detected, it may only
represent a transient infection and is not a reliable indicator of NPC. The
test may also show false-positive results. Our early nasopharyngeal cancer
screening combines PCR technology and next generation DNA sequencing to analyze
DNA in plasma with an accuracy of 97%. It can help identify NPC at early stage
and hence allowing for early treatment, which greatly increases the likelihood
of successful treatment.
