Stroke is the fourth "killer" in Hong Kong, with an average of over 3,000 deaths annually due to stroke. Most strokes occur without warning signs, and their effects can be profound¹, impacting daily life and work. Patients may experience slurred speech or loss of speech ability, unstable movement or falls, weakness in the body, and numbness or tremors in the face, arms, or legs.
Developed by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the ARIA technology captures retinal images using a fundus camera. This technology is patented in the United States, China, and Taiwan, and utilizes artificial intelligence to analyze the morphology and condition of retinal blood vessels. It safely and quickly assesses the risk of stroke, offering a simple, fast, and highly accurate evaluation. Early detection and management of risk factors, including dietary control, exercise, and medication, can effectively prevent the occurrence of stroke².
